Shihan Wayne Shockness began martial arts training in 1967 in Manhattan, New York and received his black belt in Shotokan Karate in 1972, and is currently a student under Kanazawa Hirokazu. He is a member of SKIF USA.

Shihan Shockness relocated to San Francisco in 1986, and founded his own Shotokan Karate school with an emphasis on practical application, hard training, and building strength of character.
